A little animal pasta died in the making

What better way to add to the chaos of being a mother to a 4 1/2 year-old than to add coloured staining liquids to the day from hell?!

Putting all the disasters aside, I had a Pinterest success! Buddy and I (mostly I, because apparently making pasta necklaces it’s not cool when you’re a four and a half year old and know everything there is to know about the world) made animal pasta necklaces.

It is truly easy, anyone could do it. All you need is rubbing alcohol, your choice of pasta and food colouring.

Here’s a little tip don’t use natural food colouring – use the good old-fashioned stuff.

Divide your pasta into snap lock bags –  maybe a handful each. Then, squirt the rubbing alcohol into each bag just until the pasta is coated.  Then squirt in a colour to each bag.

Seal the bag and rub it round a bit, the kid liked this part then ran away again to paint my windows with mud.

Pour each bag contents onto a tray and let them dry in the sun for half a day.

Then string them up to make all sorts of jewellery and decorations.

Sweet!
